CLIQ Basics

Can various administrators have different rights within the software? (multi-client capability)

Both in the CLIQ Local Manager software and in the CLIQ Web Manager software, it is possible to create additional users with additional programming keys. The rights of these users can then be restricted by the main administrator (PR01).

The CLIQ Local Manager software is a single-user solution. Nevertheless, it is possible for different users to use this software. For this purpose, another programming key is issued to one person and the software automatically creates a new user. The rights must then be assigned in the user list of the settings. This makes sense especially for holiday replacements when identical rights to the main administrator are not desired. The reprogramming of certain cylinders by other users can also be prevented.

With the CLIQ Web Manager software, several users can access the software simultaneously. Here, through the different rights and possible differentiated roles, the interface of the software is simultaneously adapted for the respective user. For this purpose, a programming key must be issued to a person and a role assigned for the programming key.

Date of manufacture (CLIQ keys and cylinders)

Our CLIQ cylinders (all systems) are always provided with a date abbreviation consisting of two letters indicating the month and year of manufacture. The first letter stands for the month and the second for the year in which the cylinder was manufactured. You will find the two letters on all cylinders under the marking next to the lock number.

Cylinder was manufactured in January (A) 2017 (D)

For VERSO CLIQ and eCLIQ keys, the date of manufacture is also indicated by a date abbreviation. This is made up of the same letters as for the cylinders..

You will find the date abbreviation on the VERSO CLIQ keys on the back of the shaft, under the marking.Key was producted in September (I) 2014 (A)

With the eCLIQ keys, you will find the date abbreviation on the front of the shaft, between the system number and the marking.

Key was producted in January (A) 2017 (D)

Exchange of CLIQ Express certificates

After 2 years, the CLIQ Express certificates expire and must be renewed.
You will receive the new certificates from us on request, these will be made available to you via keyfile.

The exchange of the certificates works as follows:

1. Please search for "certmgr.msc" via the Windows search field and execute it.

2. Now navigate to the folder "My certificates -> Certificates" and delete your old certificate with the organisation number of your CLIQ Express key.

3. Open the .zip file that you received via Keyfile and double-click the certificate with the marking of your CLIQ Express key (e.g.: P0000123.p12).

Please do not change the "Storage location" of the certificate and keep the setting "Current user" (the password for the respective certificate can be found in the attached text document "certificate-password.txt").

After performing these actions, you should be able to start your CLIQ Express software again without difficulty.

How can I respect the topic data protection with an electromechanical locking system and the administration software?

Electromechanical locking systems are not only used to carry out programming in case of authorisation changes or lost keys, but also to be able to trace which key was used in which cylinder if necessary. All this data must be protected.

Within the software, we already support the legal and operational requirements on the topic of data protection.

There is a 2-factor authentication for logging on to the software, legally compliant deletion functions within the software settings as well as a role and rights concept for the users of the software.

In addition, both software products offer the option of a technical approver function for the collection of event logs, which ensures a high level of protection of personal data. Please also see the following articles:

  1. Approver in CLIQ Web Manager
  2. Approver in CLIQ Local Manager

In the CLIQ Local Manager, there is also the option of switching off/on again the event log list by programming the cylinder/key on site.

If it is already certain in advance that some areas must never store events in the cylinder, we recommend the cylinder version without audit function. In this case, the event log is deactivated at the factory and the cylinder is marked on the face. Subsequent activation of the event log is no longer possible.

How can you check if a key is defective?

If a key for CLIQ or CLIQ Web Manager master key systems is not recognised in the programming device, you can check its functionality with CLIQ Connect PC. To do this, CLIQ Connect PC must first be downloaded and installed:

cliqconnect.assaabloy.com

1. Start CLIQ Connect PC and double-click to display the CLIQ Connect device status.

2. Insert the relevant key on the left or right. No matter what kind of key it is (programming key or user key), it must be displayed as connected by CLIQ Connect PC in the device status.

If the result is as shown below with the key inserted, there may be a hardware defect:

Please note that CLIQ Connect PC is automatically started with Windows after installation and blocks CLIQ Manager. CLIQ Connect PC must be terminated in order to be able to fully use CLIQ Manager.

How do I get the registration key code / unlock code?

When installing CLIQ Manager on the computer, you will be shown a registration key. To activate the licence, please go to www.registerserver.com. There you register and immediately receive an activation code. You can now use CLIQ Manager without any restrictions.
If you do not have Internet access at the moment, you can use the software without activation for 30 days and complete the registration within the 30 days.

This process must be repeated if you change computers. From the 4th licence onwards, please give a short reason, you will then receive the activation code from the 4th licence onwards within a maximum of 24h.

How do I receive my system data for CLIQ Manager?

The system data for the CLIQ Local Manager software is provided in .els format to the CLIQ partner for the respective system. This always happens when keys/cylinders are reordered and produced.

The CLIQ partner transfers or sends the system data directly to the user for import into the CLIQ Local Manager software. As an end user, please always ensure that you have the latest CLIQ Local Manager version. Otherwise you may receive an error message when importing. You can obtain this from your CLIQ partner.

How to implement a table programming device (incl. driver)?

You can find the current drivers at  secure.ikon.de/de/en/downloadportal/136-cliq-software-updates

It is essential to read the "Readme file", as at least two steps are necessary here.

  1. In the first step, only the driver directory is created (C:\Program Files (x86)\STMicroelectronics).

  2. In this directory, the corresponding file, suitable for the operating system, must be selected and installed.

What is the difference between the keys: E1,E2,E3?

A distinction is made between 2 variants of CLIQ cylinders. We recommend using the larger E2 cylinder for doors that have to be closed by many keys/people. Typically, these are entrance doors. The E2 cylinder is also recommended for security-relevant areas where the event logs are to be read out for a longer period in an emergency.

Attention: for eCLIQ cylinders, only the E2 cylinder version is generally available.

We distinguish between 3 variants of CLIQ keys.

The E1 key is programmed into the cylinder and leaves its code there. Since it does not have a time function, it does not leave a time stamp in the cylinder.
The E2 key has a time function/event log in addition to the code. This means that it leaves a time stamp in the cylinder when it was inserted into the cylinder. The key itself can also be read, it has its own event log in which cylinder it was inserted and when.
The E3 key has its own programmability in addition to the functions of the E2 key. This means that you have to program the key into the cylinder as well as the cylinder into the key. Newly delivered E3 keys must be programmed by the administrator with the cylinders that the keys are allowed to lock.

What is the difference between the programming keys: PR,PSM,PN?

The main programming key of a system is always marked with "PR". There can only be one of these. If this key is lost or defective, it must be replaced immediately with the note "Loss of PR". Usually, the master programming key is in the possession of the master key system administrator.

If there are other persons who are to work in the master key system, so-called sub-programming keys (PN) or submaster programming keys (PSM) are issued to them.

The submaster programming key (PSM) can reprogram cylinders and read in master key system data and backups, the sub-programming key (PN) cannot. However, both keys have no rights assignment in the software like the master programming key!

With the main programming key (PR) in the CLIQ Manager software, the administrator can revoke certain rights (programming of cylinders, reading out of event logs, etc.) from his employees who have PN or PSM.

Attention: The submaster programming key (PSM) can always reprogram, this right cannot be withdrawn! The right to read out the event logs from cylinders/keys and the right to import data (.els locking system files and .A2B backup files) can be withdrawn.
